quso.ai vs Klap: Which AI Clipping Tool Fits Your Workflow?
Klap and quso.ai do the same core job. Both take a long, speech-heavy video — a podcast, an interview, a webinar — and find the moments worth posting, cut them to vertical with captions, and let you schedule the results. They differ in how you pay, what else comes out of the recording, and who each tool is built around.
The short answer: Klap charges per clip, transcribes 52 languages and publishes a developer API, so it suits high-volume clippers, non-English channels and teams building clipping into their own product. quso.ai charges per minute of processed video, has a free plan with 75 credits a month, and turns the same upload into show notes, a transcript and written posts alongside the clips. Every Klap detail below comes from klap.app as of September 2026. Every quso.ai detail comes from our own pricing page and the app itself.

Pricing: clips vs minutes
The two tools count usage in different units. That makes a straight price comparison misleading.
Klap’s pricing page listed three plans when we checked in September 2026, each quoted per month and billed yearly: Basic at $14 for 100 clips a month, Pro at $39 for 300 clips, and Pro+ at $94 for 1,000 clips. The yearly toggle says “Save 50%”. Every plan includes AI clipping, unlimited social accounts and analytics.
quso.ai’s plans are Free, Lite, Essential and Growth. Lite costs $29/month, or $19/month billed yearly, with 100 credits a month. Essential is $39/month or $26/month billed yearly with 300 credits, and Growth is $49/month or $33/month billed yearly with 600 credits. A credit covers about a minute of processed video. So a 60-minute episode uses about 60 credits, however many clips you keep.
Which unit works out cheaper depends on your recordings. Clip short videos and keep most of what comes out, and a per-clip plan is easy to reason about; process long episodes and keep only the best handful, and paying by the minute of input is usually the easier bill to predict, because the cost is fixed before you see a single clip. We have not worked out a cost per clip. It depends on how many you keep.
Where Klap is the better fit
Three situations favor Klap. In each of them we would point you there.
You are building clipping into your own product. Klap publishes a developer API that turns a YouTube URL or an MP4, MOV or WebM file into shorts, adds captions and reframing to existing clips, and returns timecoded transcripts. Its documentation also covers managed sub-users and an embeddable editor. quso.ai has no public API.
Your videos are not in one of quso.ai’s 15 clipping languages. Klap’s homepage FAQ lists 52 languages for editing and transcription, from Afrikaans to Welsh.
You want the lowest yearly entry price. Klap Basic is $14/month billed yearly. Ours starts at $19/month billed yearly.
Klap can also be connected inside ChatGPT, according to its support page. For someone who already works in ChatGPT all day, that may outweigh anything in the table above.
Where quso.ai is the better fit
You want to try it on real episodes before paying. The free plan gives 75 credits a month with no card, enough for about one hour-long episode a month. Free renders are 720p and carry a quso.ai watermark. Paid plans render 1080p without it. Klap’s free trial covers one video.
You also need the written side of the episode. The AI Writer turns the same recording into show notes, a transcript, a summary, timestamps, a newsletter, a LinkedIn post or an X thread. It takes audio files too. Clipping does not.
You fix clips by reading, not scrubbing. When the proposals miss a moment, open a custom clip, select that passage in the word-level transcript (as short as one second), and it becomes a clip. Long recordings also yield 16:9 chapters. Those are segments longer than 60 seconds, generated next to the 9:16 shorts.
You post to more than four networks. Plans that include scheduling connect TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, YouTube and Pinterest. Klap’s site lists TikTok, YouTube, Instagram and LinkedIn.
What both tools have in common
Both are built for people talking. Klap’s FAQ says it “works best for videos that incorporate speaking: like podcasts, interviews, educational videos, product reviews, trainings”, because its clip selection relies on speech detection. quso.ai works the same way: it transcribes the speech and proposes clips where a thought starts and ends.
Both score clips, too. Klap says it will “score their potential to go viral”, and quso.ai shows a virality score on each candidate short. Our score does not know your audience, your guest or this week’s topic. Sort by it. Then read the clips yourself before anything goes out.
Podcasters: check your input first
quso.ai is not an audiogram maker. It clips video only: mp4, webm or mov files, or a video link. An MP3 or WAV cannot be clipped, and quso.ai does not make waveform videos. The Klap pages we checked describe video inputs as well: a file or a YouTube link in the app, and MP4, MOV or WebM through the API. If your show is audio-only, record the next episode on camera (a Zoom recording is enough) or use the YouTube video version. Switching from Klap to quso.ai
- Sign up for the free plan. No card is needed, and you get 75 credits for the month.
- Paste the same YouTube link you gave Klap, or upload the source file. For a multi-speaker recording, set the speaker count in the upload options.
- Review the candidate clips against the transcript. Fix names in the captions and cut custom clips where the proposals missed something.
- Download MP4s, or schedule the clips. The free plan connects TikTok; plans that include scheduling connect all seven networks.
quso.ai does not import Klap projects. Clips you already made in Klap are ordinary video files, so download the ones you want to keep before you cancel.
